Story Title: Memories of David
By: Kathy Melton
I have such great memories of David from Dennys. One in particular atands out; my husband and I moved from Fort Wayne 3 years ago to help our daughter and son-in-law with our grandson, we discovered Dennys restaurant not far from where we lived. We started going there on a regular basis and David was our waiter. David always took excellent care of us when we were there. He especially took good care of our grandson, as Parker grew he always brought him a small bowl of ice cream when we came in for breakfast. I believe or grandson is one of a few children that was lucky enough to have ice crean for breakfast. David, we will miss you so much. We loved you, Len and Kathy and Parker

Dave was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He had a sweet spirit and kind heart. Among the array of positives…he will be remembered as one who was quite helpful to the careers of many a musician and entertainer. I know he was for me and our group. Off to the Heavenly level! Long live “Cool Hum!” My condolences to his family and friends.

Dave has always been one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. He was always up and positive and smiling and wanted to help in any way he could. Our world could use a lot more “Cool Hums” with his great attitude and sincerity. May God Bless him.

Dave was major part of the heart and soul of the Indianapolis music scene back when I was playing. He was a part of who alot of us are today. I havent seen Dave in over twenty years but whenever his name is mentioned I smile because that is how I remember him…always smiling.

Dave has held, and will always hold, a special place in my heart. Although I haven’t seen him in years, I will always remember his warm smile! I am grateful to have called him friend and so appreciate the times we shared. I regret not having an opportunity to tell HIM that…. Rest in peace Dave. My condolences to his family and all who knew him. Leslie

I will miss David at Denny’s – our backgrounds were quite similar. Was sad to learn of his passing on Saturday, the day after this service.

I don’t know if anyone will read this. I never used Dave for his music agent skills. I met Dave countless times at various concerts in the 70s. Somehow we always sat near each other at shows at Market Square Arena. We always had a chat and whatnot. What a cool guy. I did run into him at the “Banyon Tree Lounge” once. Had a few beverages etc… I moved away to CA in 1980… I always thought so much of his kindness and gentlemanly attitude. I hope you have peace Dave…. I sure miss those concert days..
